SunoikisisWelcome!This is the application site for the 2011 Course Development Seminars for Inter-institutional Collaborative Courses (ICC's) in ancient Greek and Latin- Greek Hellenistic Literature
The seminar for the course on Greek Hellenistic literature will begin on Sunday, June 12 and conclude on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C. Participants should arrive on Saturday, June 11, and attend the common sessions with members of the Latin seminar on Thursday, June 16. Work on the Greek course will get underway on Sunday and conclude on Tuesday, June 14. Participants are welcome to spend Wednesday at the center making use of the library facilities. Departure will be on Friday, June 17. The Center will provide housing and board. Participants or their sponsoring institutions will be responsible for the costs of travel to and from the center. All participants will receive a stipend of $500. Participation in the seminar will be limited to ten faculty members. The application deadline is May 1, 2011, but the seminar will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with the following priorities. Those who will be offering the course for undergraduates at their institutions in the fall of 2011 will receive priority. Second priority will go to new faculty members, i.e., those who are emerging from graduate programs to take up their first teaching posts. Those who have never attended a seminar sponsored by Sunoikisis will receive third priority. - Latin Literature from the Roman Empire, 70-180 CE
The seminar for designing the ICC on Latin literature from the Roman Empire, 70-180 CE will begin on Friday, June 17 through Monday, June 20, 2011, at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C. Participants are welcome to arrive as early as Wednesday, June 15, and make use of the library facilities until the seminar gets underway on Friday. Monday, June 20 will be a free day. There will be common sessions with participants in the Greek seminar on Thursday, June 16, and departure will be on Tuesday, June 21. The Center will provide housing and board.
